The Mighty Groove Kings were founded at the end of 2009. Although the name of the band is new, you will certainly recognize the familiar faces of the musicians on the stage. Bass guitarist Pat Puckett most recently with Stark Naked & the Car Thieves combines with drummer Steve Massengale to provide the most “in the pocket” rhythm section playing today. Steve & Pat played together in Y.T.&T. along with keyboard player Gary “Puddy Man” Aklin, formerly of the Groan Ups. Lead guitar player Jimmy Sullivant formerly of Jamestown Flood, toured with Steve in Sweat. Northwest Arkansas power blues/rock singer Rick Henderson fronts the band.

The Mighty Groove Kings have a big full sound featuring four vocalists. With over 50 combined years of touring experience the Mighty Groove King’s live show will keep the dance floors packed and audiences of all ages will appreciate the band’s own blend of ROCK, BLUES and R&B
